PILATES. The Pilates Method combines breathing while concentrating on the large “core” muscles in the center of the body, to include the abdomen, lower back, hips and buttocks. The physical energy exerted from the center flows outward to the limbs. Training according to the Pilates Method straightens your body, since the deep muscles close to the joints get stronger and the ability to stretch the muscles, the ligaments and the tendons improve relative to your strength. More flexibility makes daily movement easier. Unhealthy patterns of movement disappear and get replaced by new natural processes, which also will be adapted to your daily routine. Pilates is an individual experience, gained through total awareness of your body, despite the fact people do the same exercises. The intensity of the exercises vary from smooth and relaxing to high intensity. People who practice Pilates also often experience increased happiness.

YOGA Yoga channels and focuses the body’s energy. The physical Yoga-Practices are called Hatha-Yoga. These physical and mental exercises have the goal of creating harmony of breathing, movement and concentration. “Ha,” the sun, represents passion, energy, activity and creativity. “Tha,” the moon, stands for receiving, coolness, winter and passiveness. The poses (Asanas) combine those two poles and inner harmony is created. In addition to physical strength and flexibility, many Yoga-practitioners gain greatly increased emotional stability.
